Description
In Landscape/Cloud, New Mexico, Sonneman’s technique of pairing images side-by-side indicates the passage of time and its fleeting moments. The photographs appear to have been taken in motion, bringing to mind the experience of looking out a window as you drive down a highway. In the one, you can see rock formations in the distance; in the other, you notice the inclusion of clouds and the blurred form of a street sign. This creates the feeling that you are zooming through a desert in New Mexico, observing a shifting landscape with each passing second.
