In Newnan’s Rush, the pronounced flatness of the Florida landscape is on full display. A level line bisects the picture – earth meet air. But within each half, a multitude of colors, textures, patterns, and contrasts explodes this flatness into plentiful dimensions. Shall we go higher into the wispy gray cirrus clouds and through to the blue, or down to the autumn woods glowing in the early evening light? Move right, and the buffer of marsh and rushes leads to a gently rippling lake, then on to the horizon. Water meet fire.
